1st TEST BEGINS

At a time, when the debate is over Zimbabwe's test status, the first cricket test between India and Zimbabwe began a few minutes ago. Zimbabwe won the toss and has elected to bat. At the moment, Zimbabwe are 42 for 1, having lost the wicket of Brendan Taylor who was dismissed by Zaheer after scoring 13.

This is Chappell's first Test as the Indian coach and Ganguly is captaining his 48th Test today, which puts him ahead of Sunil Gavaskar and Mohammad Azharuddin for having led India in the most number of games.
